He eastern seaboard of Mexico’s Caribbean coast is a rare jewel on this planet, and Casa
Espiritu del Mar is one of the few reasonably priced gems available along this rapidly
developing coastline. The Casa is located in the Uvero neighborhood, about 35 km north of

the cruise ship port town of Mahahual, soon to be designated Carnival Cruise's signature
Caribbean port. The paved road from Mahahual to the Uvero access is about 30 km north of
Mahahual, with the last 6 km to Casa Espiritu del Mar enjoying a well-maintained, compacted
sascab beach road.
The Casa’s 25-meter-wide lot is in and of itself a treasure. It is one of the few beaches along
this coast that is growing larger every year – by a lot! Espiritu del Mar has gained roughly 72
meters of clean, white sandy beach over the past 12 years, and it continues to grow.
Casa Espiritu Mar was designed and built by the Sellers in 2013. This beautiful two-bedroom
retreat is replete with all the comforts and conveniences that you might be looking for,
starting with the welcoming stone patio entrance flanked by colorful bougainvillea and
magnolia gardens.
A cozy screened porch sitting just off the spacious first-floor living room is a perfect sanctuary
by day or night. The dining area is open to the living area and accommodates multiple guests
and easy entertaining.
The second-floor master bedroom has a private screened porch, flanked by a generous
outdoor patio with a truly magnificent sea view. In addition to the 2-bedroom, 2 1/2 bath
main living quarters, this versatile Casa has a separate second-floor apartment for lucky
house guests, an independent rental, or even an on-site caretaker.
Since its construction, the Sellers have invested $10,000 in additional improvements, including
eight new 48V solar panels and six new lithium batteries that serve the entire house. The
refrigerator-freezer as well as the washer-dryer are high-end LG appliances. The Casa is wired
for air conditioning, but the breezy location, in addition to multiple ceiling fans, has not
warranted the need for air conditioning.
The exterior windows and doors are simulated mahogany, maintenance-free aluminum
throughout. The interior doors and built-in cabinetry feature custom-built tropical hardwood
construction. The floors throughout the house are minimal-maintenance ceramic tile as are
the kitchen and bath countertops.
As icing on the cake, the entire house comes fully furnished with tropical wood, custom-made
furniture to match the tropical wood doors and cabinetry throughout.
At the asking price of $499,000, Casa Espiritu del Mar is truly a Caribbean beachfront bargain.
